Why I hate Coldplay / Radiohead: You and Whose Army

A few years after the release of OK Computer and funs, the press and the media were growing anxious over the next release of Radiohead. Eventually, they released Kid A in 2000 that left a lot of the critics puzzled. Most of the public and press were waiting a release in the lines of OK Computer, but Radiohead refused to fall for that and capitalise easy tunes. Instead they embarked in a new music styles rediscovering their sound. Well, Coldplay found the perfect opportunity in 2000 to fill in the 'gap' that Radiohead left with Parachutes their 1st album. That explains why the always sounded "Pompous, mawkish, and unbearably smug". Andy Gill explains why he hates Coldplay in his much discussed article published by INDEPENDENT

Come on, Come on
You think you drive me crazy, well

Come on, Come on
You and whose army
You and your cronies

Come on, Come on
Holy Roman empire

Come on if you think
Come on if you think
You can take us all
You can take us all

You and whose army
You and your cronies

You forget so easy
We ride tonight
We ride tonight
Ghost horses
Ghost horses

We ride tonight
We ride tonight
Ghost horses
Ghost horses
Ghost horses
